Sustainability
Jute is a natural fibre that doesn’t rely on insecticides or pesticides, making it completely biodegradable. The plant reaches maturity quickly – at between four and six months – so it is an incredibly efficient source of renewable materials. Relying on natural rainfall (rather than extensive and energy-consumptive irrigation systems), it absorbs carbon dioxide and releases oxygen much faster than trees, as well as enhancing the fertility of the soil it grows in for future crops.
