The hand-drawn thread work on this much-loved bed linen is known as ‘jour’. It’s a technique that’s been passed down through generations and cannot be replicated by machines. Made in small, traditional villages in Vietnam from pure linen that feels soft and cool, it’s got a slightly textured, relaxed look due to the fibre’s natural properties. The amount of time, care and personal attention to detail that goes into every piece is what makes our Santorini collection very special.

• Duvet Cover and Oxford Pillowcases have an extra border beyond the seamed edge

• Flat Sheet features a hand-worked ladder-stitch trim along the cuff, which is on display when folded down

• Produced naturally using the flax plant, linen requires only rainfall, needs little maintenance and is grown free of GMOs. There is no wastage of any part of the flax plant: fibres used for linen yarn are derived naturally and any excess is used for other resources. The timeless ladder-stitch design on our Santorini Bed Linen is made by skilled artisans in Vietnam. The thread-drawn work is described as “jour” (day) work, as it is carried out during daylight hours, with many different patterns achieved through the process. The average time needed to complete the ladder-stitch pattern on a single product is around seven hours per pillowcase and around 23 hours for a duvet cover.
